CE for Post Construction Assessment

Post Construction Assessment (PCA) is an RCD specific CE Module designed for recreational crafts, engines and components that have not been placed on the market or for which the original builder has not taken responsibility for the CE Marking.

Also for products with CE Marking which will undergo a major modification in such an extent that it may not meet the applicable essential safety and environmental requirements laid down in the Directive.

Since 1st January 2006 the RCD requires each individual boat to be certified by a Notified Body, regardless of category and size and even if the boat is brand-new and unused.

Attention is drawn to the responsibility and the legal aspects, having the owner, the importer, or the person placing the craft on the market or putting it into service in the EEA.

If you plan to buy, import or distribute a non CE marked boat or personal water craft (PWC) or make a major modification in existing product with previously issued CE marking then you should contact IMCB.

Application to IMCB

The applicant of craft is to submit to the IMCB the following documents:

  1. Drawings and technical documents submitted according to the requirements of the DIRECTIVE 2013/53/EU on recreational craft and personal watercraft.
  2. Module PCA Application.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE?

Upon completion of the survey the PCA Certificate will be issued supported by a Report of Conformity.
